Air purifiers go on sale more often than anything else we track. The median model sat 10% or more below its usual Amazon price on 19.4% of days over three years. Black Friday-Cyber Monday cut prices 10%+ 52% of the time (median cut 29.0%), Prime Day 35% and October's deal days 29%. November is the cheapest month.
Those numbers come from daily prices for 10 air purifiers from Coway, Levoit, Blueair, Winix, Medify and Dyson, October 2023 to October 2026. They're the models in our best air purifier guides. Black Friday, Prime Day or October: which is best for air purifiers?
For each model at each sale, we compared the lowest event price with the median price over the 30 days before.

Black Friday wins, as it does for nearly every category we track. What's different about air purifiers is that Prime Day isn't far behind. Across all 141 products in our study, Prime Day produced a 10%+ cut only 8.9% of the time. For air purifiers it was 35%. So if summer is when you need one, Prime Day is a reasonable time to buy.
October is the weakest of the three. It does cut prices fairly often, but the cuts are smaller. Twice the October price was well above the month before: the Coway AP-1512HH in 2024 (23.8% higher) and the Winix 5510 in 2025 (38.6% higher).

"Black Friday" here means the Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend. The Winix 5510 has about 23 months of prices and the Levoit Core 300S-P about 9, so they missed some events.
What stands out
The Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max is the most predictable discount in the group. It was cut 10% or more at all seven sale events, the only model that managed that, including 31.1% and 25.8% at the two Prime Days. Its biggest cut was 42.7% over Black Friday-Cyber Monday 2025, and its lowest price, $199.49, came on Thanksgiving Day 2024. It also changes price constantly, about 7.8 times a month, so a deal can come and go within days.
The Coway AP-1512HH is the Black Friday model. It was cut between 29.0% and 39.1% at all three Black Friday-Cyber Monday weekends, and its three-year low of $139.99 came on November 17, 2023, a week before Black Friday. On October 1, 2026 it was $229.99, above its usual $206.99. The smaller Coway Airmega 100 follows the same script even more strictly: big Black Friday cuts, nothing at either Prime Day or either October event.
The Dyson TP07 is odd. Its lowest price, $329.99, came on May 12, 2024, nowhere near a sale event. And it spent long stretches well below its median: its October and December averages were about 18% under, May about 16%. On October 1, 2026 it was $649.99, its highest price in three years. With a Dyson the main thing is not to pay that.
The Medify MA-40 almost never goes on sale: 2.6% of days, and its price changed about once every two months. The one exception was Black Friday-Cyber Monday 2025, when it dropped 25.2% to $186.99. If that's the model you want, Black Friday is the one chance our data shows.
The Levoits mostly got modest cuts of 15% to 17% at events. Two quirks. The Core 300-P's lowest price, $49.00 in June 2025, was 51% under its usual price at the time and didn't fall during any sale event. And the Core 200S-P's usual price has crept up: it never once sold 10% under its three-year median, and on October 1, 2026 it was $89.99, its highest price in the period.
Which months are air purifiers cheapest?
November and December, but only just. For the median model, prices averaged 97.7% of the usual price in November and 98.0% in December. June was the dearest month at 103.7%, followed by October at 102.0%. Four of the ten models hit their three-year low in November.

100 means the usual price. Individual models swing much more than the category. The Coway Airmega 100 averaged 78.5 in November and 80.6 in January but 107.9 in June. The Coway AP-1512HH was cheapest in March (85.5).
What's a fair price for each air purifier?
We'd suggest waiting for 10% under the three-year median. That's the same line we use to call a day a "sale" day, and every model except the Core 200S-P has sold at or below it at least once. It's a target you can realistically get, not a once-a-year low.

On October 1, 2026, the Winix 5510 and the Levoit Core 300-P were already at or under their targets. The live prices on this page are more current than that column.
The Core 200S-P is the awkward one. Its fair price works out to $68.82, below anything it has actually sold for, so treat anything under about $70 as good. If you're willing to wait for Black Friday, aim closer to the "lowest seen" column on the Coway, Blueair and Dyson models, all of which have had cuts of 30% or more.
Filters cost money too
This data covers the purifier's price only. Replacement filters are a separate, ongoing cost, and over a few years they can add up to more than you saved on the unit. How we measured this
We tracked the daily Amazon US price of 10 air purifiers from October 1, 2023 to October 1, 2026, using the last price recorded each day from our Keepa price history (Amazon's own offer, otherwise the lowest new offer). The "usual price" on any day is the median of the previous 90 days, and a day counts as "on sale" when the price is at least 10% under that. The usual prices in the tables above are three-year medians. Event cuts compare the lowest price during the event with the median of the 30 days before. The month index is the average price in that month as a percentage of the three-year median.
Some limits. We only record the public price, so coupons, Subscribe & Save and Prime member-only prices are missing, and Prime Day savings for members may be bigger than shown. Ten models is a small sample, so read the category numbers as directional. These are models we recommend rather than a random pick from Amazon. And the window ends on October 1, 2026, so the July 2026 Prime Day isn't included.

Its typical Amazon price over three years was $206.99, so $186.29 or less (10% under) is a fair buy. The lowest price we recorded was $139.99 on November 17, 2023, and it was cut 29% to 39% at every Black Friday-Cyber Monday from 2023 to 2025.
Should I wait for a sale to buy an air purifier?
If you can wait a few weeks, usually yes. The median air purifier was 10% or more below its usual price on 19.4% of days, the highest of the 14 product categories we track. The exceptions are the Medify MA-40 and the Levoit Core 300S-P, which were rarely discounted. If you need cleaner air now because of allergies or smoke, buy now and don't wait for an event.
