This policy explains what information we collect when you use blowmycash.com, and what we do with it. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
What we collect
We don't ask you for personal information. You don't need an account, and there are no sign-up forms on the site.
We do collect some information automatically:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country or region level), what device and browser they use, how they arrived, and when someone clicks through to Amazon. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.
- Network and security data. The site runs behind Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We use the country Cloudflare detects to send you to the right Amazon store (amazon.com, or amazon.co.uk for the UK and Ireland).
- Site preferences. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply.
Amazon and other sites
When you click through to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies so it can credit purchases to us. What Amazon collects is covered by Amazon's own privacy notice, not this one. The same applies to our Facebook page and group, and to any other site we link to.
How we use information
We use it to run and improve the site: to see which guides are useful, find broken pages, keep the site secure and route buy links to your local Amazon store. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run the site: Google (analytics) and Cloudflare (hosting and security). They process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or US state privacy laws such as California's), you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, or to have it deleted. Email us and we'll help.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
