TOOSOFt Anti Cat Scratch Furniture Protector Clear Vinyl 196.9"x16.5"

The TOOSOFt clear roll is a big sheet of single-sided vinyl for cat owners who need to cover more than a corner. It costs about $26 and has a 4.4-star average from about 1,600 ratings.

What you get

One roll, 196.9 inches long (about 16 feet) and 16.5 inches wide, made from 0.1mm clear PVC. TOOSOFt says that's nearly twice the thickness of standard 0.06mm protectors. One side is adhesive; the outer face is smooth, so claws slide off and the couch isn't sticky to sit on.

That's about 3,250 square inches of film. On a typical two-seat couch, that covers both cushion fronts and both arm faces with some to spare. Our whole-couch protection guide has the math.

You measure, cut, peel and stick. No pins. TOOSOFt says it removes cleanly without residue, and that it works on flat and curved surfaces. In practice, tight curves are easier if you cut shorter pieces than if you try to wrap one long strip.

Who it's for

• Fabric couches where the cat has gone after whole panels, not one corner
• Mattresses, cabinets and doors as well as couches
• People who want protection that's hard to spot on light and mid-tone fabric

Who should skip it

Leather and faux leather owners; the listing says not to use it on either. Cats that rip thin film may need something thicker. If you mainly need to protect narrow arms, the 16.5-inch width means trimming and waste.

Alternatives

TOOSOFt's narrower 160 x 12.4 in roll suits arms better. For a cat that tears film, the Stelucca 1.2mm shields are tougher. All the tape and film options are compared in our cat scratch tape guide and best cat scratch protectors roundup.
