Stelucca Amazing Shields Cat Scratch Furniture Protector - 6 Pack XL

Stelucca Amazing Shields are the heavy-duty option among clear cat scratch protectors. A 6-pack of XL sheets costs about $15 and has roughly 17,700 ratings at 4.3 stars.

What you get

Six clear sheets, each 17 x 12 in, made from 1.2mm PVC. That's far thicker than the 0.1 to 0.15mm film rolls most brands sell. Stelucca puts total coverage at over 1,200 square inches. Each sheet has a self-adhesive pad, and the pack includes 50 twist pins for extra hold.

The idea is a rigid surface claws can't sink into. Thin film can be torn by a strong cat. A 1.2mm sheet is much harder to damage, so it suits the one spot your cat attacks every day, usually the front corner of an arm.

You can cut the sheets with scissors to fit curved arms and odd shapes.

Fabric warnings

Stelucca says the shields are for fabric and upholstery and not intended for leather, faux leather, velvet or microfiber. It also recommends testing on a hidden area before full use. Take that seriously on anything expensive.

Who it's for

• Cats that have already shredded thinner tape or film
• High-traffic scratch zones on fabric couches, chairs and recliners
• Renters who want a removable barrier on a furnished couch (test first)

Who should skip it

Leather, velvet and microfiber owners. And if you want the protector to be invisible, thin film is less noticeable than a rigid sheet.

Alternatives

The Panther Armor clear sheets with twist pins are thinner and more flexible around corners. For whole panels, the TOOSOFt clear roll covers more area. Compare all three approaches in our cat couch protector guide, or see whole-couch protection if your cat is hitting everything.
