Its AHAM Verifide CADR is 143 CFM for smoke, 153 for dust and 167 for pollen. Levoit rates it at 4.8 air changes per hour in a 222 sq ft room, or one change per hour across 1,073 sq ft.

Who it's for

Bedrooms, home offices and smaller living rooms. That 222 sq ft figure is the one to pay attention to. Sleep mode runs at 24 dB, and you can switch the display off. There's a timer with 2, 4, 6 and 8-hour settings, so it can shut itself off after you've fallen asleep.

Who should skip it

Anyone who wants the purifier to react to the air on its own. There's no particle sensor, no auto mode and no app. You pick a fan speed and it holds that speed until you change it. Some people like that. Others forget it's on low while the kitchen fills with smoke.

If you want the sensor and app on the same body, the Core 300S-P adds both for about $150. It uses the same filter size, and its CADR is close (141 smoke, 156 dust, 175 pollen), so you're paying the extra for convenience, not cleaning power.
