Dyson Purifier Cool TP07 Smart Air Purifier and Fan - White/Silver

The Dyson Purifier Cool TP07 is a HEPA air purifier and a bladeless fan in one tower. It costs about $650. It isn't an air conditioner. It moves air around and filters it, but it doesn't lower the room temperature. It has about 600 reviews at 4.3 stars.

Who it's for

People who want one device to replace both a purifier and a summer fan, and who care about how it looks. It oscillates up to 350°. Backward airflow mode sends air out the back, so it keeps purifying in winter without blowing a breeze at you. Night mode and a sleep timer (30 minutes to 8 hours) cover bedroom use. Third-party measurements put it at about 35 dB on speed 1.

The smart side is the most complete on this site. It has sensors, an LCD air quality readout, the MyDyson app, and works with Alexa, Siri and Google.

Filtration

Dyson says the whole machine is sealed to HEPA H13 standard. That means air can't leak around the filter, and it captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 micron. A filter lasts about 12 months at 12 hours a day, and a replacement costs about $55 to $80.

The CADR problem

Dyson doesn't publish an AHAM CADR for the TP07. Most of the purifiers we cover publish one. Without it, you can't directly compare how fast it cleans a room against a Levoit or Coway. That's the main reason we'd hesitate to recommend it purely as a purifier.

Who should skip it

Anyone who only needs clean air. For about $190, the Levoit Core 400S-P has an AHAM Verifide CADR of 231 CFM for smoke, a laser PM2.5 sensor, an app and voice control. The Winix 5510 posts a 253 CFM smoke CADR for about $135. Either one plus a basic fan still costs far less than the Dyson.

Light sleepers should also compare noise. About 35 dB on speed 1 is higher than the 22 to 24 dB lows on the Levoit Core 300-P, 300S-P and 400S-P.
