Moso Natural 200g charcoal bags 4-pack - covering the kitchen and the rooms around it
This is four of the standard Moso Natural 200g bamboo charcoal bags. Each one is unscented, hangs from a reinforced grommet, and recharges if you leave it in sunlight for an hour once a month. Moso says each bag lasts two years and covers up to 90 square feet.
Why buy four
Cooking smell rarely stays in the kitchen. It drifts into the hallway, up the stairs and into whatever room has the most fabric. One bag can only work on the air around it, so spreading four across that route does more than one bag ever could.
The math is simple. At the listed prices the single bag is about $12.95 and the 4-pack is about $39.95, so you pay roughly $10 a bag. If you'd end up buying a second single later, the pack is cheaper.
A reasonable split for a house with a closed kitchen:
- On top of the kitchen cabinets, where warm air collects.
- Near the trash can or under the sink.
- In the hallway just outside the kitchen door.
- On the upstairs landing.
Our guide on stopping cooking smells going upstairs covers why the stairwell matters so much.
Who should skip it
If you live in a small apartment with one compact kitchen, a single bag is enough. And if your real problem is a range hood that isn't pulling smoke out, charcoal bags only treat the symptom. Check the hood first with our range hood troubleshooting guide.
Charcoal is also slow. It won't clear a strong smell in the hour after cooking.
How it compares
- Zero Odor spray: acts right away on fabrics and the air you mist it into, and leaves no lasting fragrance. You have to keep buying it, though, and it only works where you spray. The bags are passive and reusable. Plenty of people use both: spray after cooking, bags for the background.
- Febreze Plug: adds a scent to the room and needs an outlet and refills. If you want the house to smell of nothing rather than of something, charcoal is the better fit.
