Product Details
Furrther sisal cat scratcher mat - wall, couch or floor, with pins and pads included
The Furrther sisal mat is a scratching surface designed to be mounted where your cat already scratches. It costs about $25 and averages 4.4 stars from about 450 ratings.
What you get
A 21.7 x 13 in mat made of 100% natural sisal, with adhesive pads and twist pins so you can fix it to a couch side, a wall corner or the floor. It comes in several printed designs, which matters if the mat will sit on the side of your couch where everyone can see it.
Furrther calls the sisal shedding-resistant and says the print ink is free from harsh chemicals. The mat also fits Furrther's own wooden frame, sold separately, if you want a freestanding scratcher, ramp or bed.
Where it works
- The side panel of a fabric couch, as the part the cat is allowed to scratch
- A wall corner the cat keeps clawing
- On the floor in front of a door or couch arm
A common setup on fabric couches: clear film on the arms and fronts, and this mat on one side panel or right beside the couch. The cat keeps scratching, just not where it matters. Our cat couch protector guide explains that trade.
Who it's for
- Cats that like sisal and scratch vertically
- People who want a scratcher that looks better than a plain sisal patch
Who should skip it
Leather couch owners, at least for mounting on the couch itself; twist pins would leave holes. It's also about twice the price of a plain sisal mat, so if looks and mounting hardware don't matter, save the money.
Alternatives
The FUKUMARU sisal mat is larger and about $12. For a bigger stretch, the SmartCat post is 32 inches tall. Compare all types in our cat scratching mat guide.
