Product Details
QianShouYan clear cat scratch roll, 11.8 x 197 in - thicker 0.15mm budget film
This clear vinyl roll, sold under the QianShouYan brand, is a cheaper, slightly thicker alternative to the bigger-name films. It costs about $18 and averages 4.2 stars from about 1,100 ratings.
What you get
A roll 11.8 inches wide and 197 inches long (about 16 feet) of clear single-sided film, thickened to 0.15mm. Most cat scratch films are around 0.1mm, so this one is a bit tougher against sharp claws while still being hard to see once it's flat.
The outer face is smooth, not sticky. Claws slide off rather than catching fabric. The listing says it stays put but removes without residue, and that it can go on couches, doors, walls, trim, cabinets and kitchen islands.
That's about 2,300 square inches of film. On a loveseat that's often enough for both arms and the cushion fronts.
Who it's for
- Smaller couches, loveseats and armchairs
- Door trim and cabinet sides
- Anyone on a budget who wants something a little thicker than standard film
Who should skip it
The listing says it's not recommended for leather, velvet or "artificial" furniture, which presumably means faux leather. If your couch is any of those, look at a scratcher that doesn't attach to the couch instead. If you need to cover big panels, a wider roll means fewer seams.
Tips
Lint-roll first, cut pieces to fit each flat face, and press every edge firmly. Film fails at edges and over cat hair.
