Catinarla cardboard cat scratch pads, 8-pack - reversible scratchers for every room

This Catinarla 8-pack is a set of reversible corrugated cardboard scratchers. It costs about $22 and averages 4.4 stars from about 1,300 ratings.

What you get

Eight cardboard pads, each 16.8 x 8.5 x 1 inches, made from recycled corrugated cardboard with non-toxic glue. Each pad has two usable sides, so you get 16 scratching surfaces. When one side wears down, flip it.

Some cats ignore sisal but love cardboard. The corrugated edges are easy to dig into and satisfying to shred. Cardboard also wears out faster than sisal, which is why a multi-pack makes sense.

Where to put them

Next to the furniture the cat has been scratching: on the floor in front of the couch, on the couch seat, or wedged against a cushion. Pads this size are best lying flat or held in place by weight. They aren't designed to stick to vertical surfaces.

With eight in the pack, you can put one in every room the cat uses. That matters more than people think. A single scratcher in the living room won't stop the cat clawing the bedroom door. Our cat scratching mat guide covers placement.

Who it's for

  • Cats that prefer cardboard, or owners who want to find out
  • Multi-room or multi-cat homes
  • Renters who can't stick anything to furniture

Who should skip it

Cats that scratch vertically, up a couch arm or door frame. Flat pads don't satisfy that stretch. A tall post works better. Expect cardboard bits on the floor, too.

Alternatives

The FUKUMARU sisal mat is cheaper per mat and lasts longer, if your cat likes sisal. For a vertical scratcher, the SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post is 32 inches tall. Pair either with a protector on the couch; our best cat scratch protectors roundup has options.
