The best swivel cuddle chair is the INMOZATA Swivel Cuddle Chair with Footstool, about £170 when we checked. It's 85cm wide, rated to 150kg, sits on a metal swivel base and comes with a matching footstool. The cheapest well-reviewed swivel is the TILLY Patchwork at about £120, but at 60cm wide it's a compact tub chair, not one you can curl up in.
A swivel lets you face the window in the morning and the TV in the evening without moving the furniture. Whether it's worth having depends on the base. Metal bases should turn smoothly for years. Cheap plastic mechanisms are the ones buyers complain about, because they can start to grind, catch or wobble. The base design also decides how steady the chair is when you lean to one side.
This guide is about the swivel itself: which base to look for and which chairs have a good one. For the wider range, including chairs that don't swivel, see the best cuddle chairs guide. For sets with a footstool, see cuddle chairs with footstool.

View Price History & Details1. INMOZATA Swivel Cuddle Chair with Footstool: Best Overall Swivel
Best for: a wide swivel chair with a footstool for under £200 Avoid if: your room can't fit the chair plus footstool
The INMOZATA is the best swivel package on Amazon UK right now. The chair sits on a sturdy metal swivel base over a reinforced wooden frame, and INMOZATA rates it to 150kg, the highest limit of any chair here.
It's also a proper cuddle chair. At 85cm wide, you can sit sideways with your legs tucked up, which a lot of "swivel cuddle chairs" on Amazon are too narrow for. It's upholstered in jumbo cord, and the box includes a matching footstool, three cushions and a cup holder in the arm. The footstool doesn't swivel, so put it where your feet land when you face the TV.
The caveat is track record. INMOZATA was founded in 2022, and this set had only 6 Amazon UK reviews averaging 3.7 stars when we checked, too few to show how the base holds up over years.
Pros:
- 85cm wide: room to curl up
- 150kg rating on a metal base
- Footstool, cushions and cup holder included
- Under £200
Cons:
- Only 6 Amazon reviews so far (3.7 stars)
- Young brand with no long-term record
- Cord picks up pet hair
- Large footprint with the footstool out

Amazon price history: tracked since May 2025. Lowest £192.99 (January 2026), highest £199.99, now £199.99.
View Price History & Details2. Stunning Chairs Velvet Swivel Cuddle Chair: Best Velvet Swivel
Best for: a good-looking velvet chair that turns a full circle Avoid if: you want a footstool included, or have pets that shed
The Stunning Chairs velvet model is the one most people would pick if they saw it in a room first. The crushed velvet, curved back and stacked round base look far more expensive than about £200. Stunning Chairs is a UK company in Cleethorpes with its own customer service.
The swivel is a concealed metal base that turns a full 360 degrees. Stunning Chairs doesn't publish the mechanism design or a weight limit, so you can't compare it with the INMOZATA on paper. For normal sitting and turning between the TV and the room, that's unlikely to matter.
Assembly is tool-free: the backrest slots into the base. The seat cushion comes off for cleaning. Velvet needs looking after, which our velvet cuddle chair guide covers. At about £200 with no footstool, it costs more than the INMOZATA set.
Pros:
- Looks expensive
- UK brand with customer service
- Tool-free assembly
- Removable seat cushion
Cons:
- No weight limit or base details published
- No footstool
- Velvet shows marks and pet hair
Amazon price history: tracked since May 2025. Lowest £115.79 (January 2026), highest £119.99, now £119.99.
View Price History & Details3. TILLY Patchwork Swivel Cuddle Chair: Best Budget Swivel
Best for: the cheapest well-reviewed swivel, in a bedroom or small room Avoid if: you want to curl up sideways
The swivel cuddle chair we used to recommend under £100 has sold out, and we found no in-stock swivel under £100 with a decent review history to replace it. The cheapest one we'd buy now is the TILLY Patchwork from Stunning Chairs, at about £120.
Be clear about what it is: a compact tub chair, 60cm wide, 62cm deep and 69cm high. You'll sit in it comfortably and it turns a full 360 degrees, but there's no room to curl up the way you can in the INMOZATA. It weighs 15kg and arrives in a 45 x 65 x 65cm box, the backrest slots in by hand, and the foam seat cushion comes off. The multicoloured patchwork velvet is the reason to choose it over a plain tub chair.
It has 4.9 stars, but from only 15 reviews. No weight limit is listed.
Pros:
- Cheapest swivel we'd recommend
- Small, light and easy to get upstairs
- Tool-free assembly
- Distinctive patchwork velvet
Cons:
- 60cm wide: a tub chair, not a curl-up chair
- No weight rating listed
- Few reviews so far
Amazon price history: tracked since July 2024. Lowest £399.99 (March 2026), highest £469.99, now £469.99.
View Price History & Details4. DEKKETO Chenille Swivel Cuddle Chair with Storage Footstool: Best Premium Swivel
Best for: an enclosed wraparound seat with a storage footstool Avoid if: your budget is under £300
The DEKKETO costs about £470, up from £399.99 in the spring. It's a chenille swivel tub chair on a metal base, with a U-shaped back that wraps further around you than the open-backed chairs here. It comes with 16cm-thick foam cushions, four pillows and a footstool with storage inside.
The value is the question, not the swivel. At this price you're competing with high-street cuddle chairs you can sit in before buying; Dunelm's range mostly sits around £400. The 110kg limit is the lowest here, chenille can pill, and the wide barrel shape should be assembled in the room where it will stay.
Pros:
- Enclosed wraparound seat
- Storage footstool
- Thick cushions and four pillows
Cons:
- About £470
- 110kg limit
- Chenille can pill
- Bulky
What to look for in a swivel cuddle chair
Ring base or central post
Most swivel cuddle chairs use one of two designs.
A ring or plate base sits a wide metal circle or disc on the floor, with the bearing in the middle. The load spreads across the whole circle, so it resists tipping when you lean to one side.
A central post base carries the bearing on a single post with feet radiating out. It can work well, but sideways loads go through the post and feet, and that's where wobble tends to start as the bearing wears. Very cheap chairs often use this design, sometimes with plastic parts.
Listings don't always say which kind of base a chair has. If it only says "360-degree swivel", look at the photos of the underside.
Wobble
New swivels rarely wobble. Any wobble develops over months as the bearing wears, faster if someone always sits off-centre. You can't see that coming from a listing, so sort Amazon reviews by most recent and look for owners who mention wobble a year or more after buying.
Wooden floors
A metal base can scratch wood if you drag the chair. Use felt pads or stand it on a round rug. On carpet, this isn't an issue.
Swivel and footstools
The chair turns but the footstool doesn't. If you swivel a lot, a light pouffe you can nudge with your foot works better than a heavy matching footstool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are swivel cuddle chairs worth it?
Yes, if the chair sits between two things you look at, like the TV and a window, or the sofa and the kitchen. If it sits in a corner facing one way, a swivel adds cost without adding much. For the same money, a fixed oversized armchair usually gives you more width to curl up in.
What is the difference between a swivel and a rocking cuddle chair?
A swivel chair turns 360 degrees on a fixed base, so you can face any direction without moving it. A rocking or glider chair moves backwards and forwards but does not turn. A few chairs do both, but most swivel cuddle chairs on Amazon UK only rotate.
Can a swivel cuddle chair damage a wooden floor?
It can if the metal base is dragged rather than lifted when you move the chair. Put felt pads under the base or stand it on a round rug. Some chairs come with felt pads, so check the listing. On carpet, it isn't a concern.
Can you get a swivel cuddle chair under £100?
Not one we would recommend at the moment. In October 2026 we found no in-stock swivel cuddle chair on Amazon UK under £100 with a decent review history. The cheapest well-reviewed swivel was the TILLY Patchwork at about £120, a compact 60cm tub chair rather than a wide curl-up chair.
The verdict
Buy the INMOZATA Swivel Cuddle Chair with Footstool if you want a wide swivel chair you can curl up in, with a footstool, for under £200. The Stunning Chairs Velvet Swivel is the better-looking choice. For a small room or a tight budget, the TILLY Patchwork is the cheapest swivel we'd buy.
