Two things stand out. First, "cuddle chair" covers a huge range: the DEKKETO is nearly twice as wide as the TILLY Patchwork, though both are sold under the name. Only the top four are wide enough to curl up in; the bottom three are armchairs and tub chairs you sit back in. Second, a lot of listings leave out the depth, the box size or the weight limit. If one of those matters for your room or your doorway, ask the seller before you order.

Seat width is the number that matters
Listings lead with overall width, including the arms. The number that decides whether you can curl up is seat width: the space between the inside edges of the arms. Almost no cuddle chair listing gives it, including every chair above, so treat these ranges as rough:

A standard armchair and a cuddle chair overlap at around 85cm overall, because chunky arms eat into the seat. If the listing doesn't give a seat width, look at the photos of someone sitting in it, or check the questions section on the listing. The extra 10 to 20cm of seat is the whole point of a cuddle chair: room to tuck a leg under you, sit cross-legged or lean sideways against an arm.
How much floor space you need
The chair on its own
A full-size cuddle chair covers roughly 85 x 85cm of floor; the Stunning Chairs velvet chair is 88 x 87cm, the Yaheetech 102.5 x 75cm. To use it comfortably, add:
- 60cm in front, for your legs and to stand up without backing into something
- About 30cm each side, where nobody needs to walk past
That comes to roughly 1.5m x 1.5m. If one side is a route through the room, 30cm isn't enough: OKA's furniture measuring guide suggests at least 50cm between pieces of furniture, and 80cm along a walkway.
With a footstool

Tape it out
Before ordering, mark the chair's width and depth on the floor with masking tape, plus the footstool if there is one. Then look at it from the doorway. Can you still get to the window, the radiator and the sofa without stepping round it? Five minutes with a tape measure catches most size mistakes.
Which size suits your room?
Small living room or bedroom. A full-size cuddle chair plus footstool will dominate. Look at the 60 to 75cm chairs instead: the TILLY Patchwork, the Marketero or the Vesgantti wingback. Will it fit through the door?
UK internal doors are about 76cm wide, front doors usually a bit more. Cuddle chairs almost never travel assembled: they come boxed, typically with the back separate from the base, so what matters is the box's thinnest side.
- Stunning Chairs velvet: 45 x 88 x 93cm box. Too wide to carry through flat, fine on its edge.
- DEKKETO: 42 x 96 x 127cm box, about 55kg. Fits on its edge, but it's a two-person carry, and a tight turn at the top of the stairs is a bigger risk than the doorway itself.

Assemble the chair in the room it will live in, not in the hallway. And if your route includes a narrow staircase or a tight landing, check every box dimension against it, not just the door.

Where listings give a weight limit, it's usually 110 to 150kg. Of the chairs above, the INMOZATA is rated to 150kg, the Yaheetech to 136kg and the DEKKETO to 110kg. We couldn't find a figure on the other four listings. If weight capacity matters, for a heavier adult or for sharing with a child, ask the seller before ordering rather than guessing from the frame.
Can two people share one?
An adult and a small child, yes, in a chair of 85cm or more. Two adults side by side need something like 100 to 120cm of seat, which is love seat territory, whatever the listing says.
