Intake Breathing takes the nasal strip apart. Two small adhesive tabs go on the sides of your nose, and a reusable band clips onto them magnetically to pull the nostrils open. The starter kit costs about $50 on Amazon and averages 3.8 stars from roughly 5,800 ratings.

What's in the kit

Four reusable bands in sizes XS to L, so you can pick the one that fits your nose, plus 15 single-use adhesive tabs. You keep the band and buy refill tabs as you go.

Intake says the system lifts the nose wider and more consistently than standard strips, and that the magnetic connection won't slip, curl or lose grip overnight. It also says it works for side, back and stomach sleepers. Those are the company's claims. We haven't found independent studies comparing it with Breathe Right.

What buyers say

The ratings are split. Fans like the stronger lift and the fact that they're not throwing away a whole strip every morning. Complaints tend to be about tabs that let go, or a band that's fiddly to clip on when you're half asleep. Like any nasal strip, it only helps if your nose is the reason you snore.
