Panasonic EH-NA9J nanoe hair dryer - the top of the Panasonic range
The EH-NA9J is Panasonic's top hair dryer. Nanoe plus Double Mineral technology, which Panasonic say reduces split ends and hair damage over time. Three nozzles including a diffuser. Folding handle. Hot and cold alternating mode. 4.5 stars from 123 reviews.
Nanoe + Double Mineral
The EH-NA65 and EH-NA67 have nanoe only. The EH-NA9J adds Double Mineral tech, which increases cuticle cohesion to prevent splitting. Panasonic had this tested at proDERM in Germany and the results showed measurable reduction in split ends with regular use.
Whether you'll notice the difference between nanoe-only and nanoe + Double Mineral after a single use: probably not. Over weeks of daily use: Panasonic's testing says yes. The improvement is cumulative. Our what is ionic hair dryer article covers how nanoe compares to standard ionic.
Hot and cold alternating mode
Switches between warm and cool air automatically, mimicking a salon technique that locks in moisture and sets shape. You don't have to press the cool shot button manually. It alternates for you. Our best hair dryer for colour-treated hair guide covers heat protection for damaged hair.
Three nozzles
Built-in quick-dry nozzle, a detachable styling nozzle, and a diffuser. The quick-dry nozzle uses dual airflow to separate strands like the EH-NA67's oscillating design. The diffuser is for curls and waves. Our best hair dryer for curly hair guide compares diffuser quality across brands.
Folding handle
Folds for travel and storage. Not quite as compact as a dedicated travel dryer but practical for weekends away. 1800W, so slightly less power than the 2000W EH-NA65 and EH-NA67. Panasonic's position is that the improved technology compensates for the lower wattage.
EH-NA65, EH-NA67, or EH-NA9J?
NA65: nanoe, diffuser, no oscillation, cheapest. NA67: nanoe, diffuser, oscillating nozzle, scalp protection. NA9J: nanoe + Double Mineral, split end reduction, hot/cold mode, folding handle, most expensive. Pick based on budget and how much the hair health tech matters to you.
Our best professional hair dryer guide puts all three Panasonic models against ghd and Dyson.
