Bedsure bamboo pillowcases - the cheapest way to try bamboo bedding
The Bedsure bamboo pillowcases come as a set of two in queen size (20 x 30 inches) and cost about $16. They have 4.4 stars from about 37,500 Amazon reviews.
What they are
Pillowcases made from rayon derived from bamboo, woven in a twill for a soft, smooth feel. Bedsure says they're cooler to the touch and better at wicking moisture than cotton. They have an envelope closure, so there's no zipper and the pillow doesn't slide out. They're OEKO-TEX certified.
Bamboo rayon tends to shrink a little after washing, and Bedsure says it cut these slightly larger to compensate. Standard and king sizes are also available.
Why start with pillowcases
Your head and neck sit on the pillow all night. If the case is polyester, it insulates. Swapping just the pillowcase is the cheapest way to feel what bamboo is like before buying a full sheet set. It also helps a cooling pillow do its job: a breathable pillow in a polyester case loses much of the point.
Bedsure also mentions they're gentler on hair and skin than rougher fabrics, the same pitch made for silk pillowcases, but cheaper and easier to wash.
Care
Machine wash cold with similar colors. Use only non-chlorine bleach if needed. Tumble dry low and take them out promptly to limit wrinkles.
Who it's for
- Hot sleepers who want a quick, cheap upgrade
- Anyone curious about bamboo before buying sheets
- People who want a silky pillowcase without silk's price or fussy washing
Who should skip it
People who love crisp cotton. Bamboo feels slinky, not crisp.
